Claudia completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, with first-class Honours at the University of South Australia in 2017. Since graduating, she has worked full time in private practice, helping clients with various physical health complaints through both hands-on and active rehabilitation methods.
She has since undertaken further learning in sports physiotherapy, dry needling and Pilates.
With an extensive soccer history from a young age, Claudia has regularly been exposed to various levels of playing, training, injury and recovery which spurred an interest in the human body and, more specifically, injury management. These experiences are what piqued her interest in physiotherapy. When she began her studies, she was quite naive to the complexity of a physiotherapist’s knowledge and training base. She revelled in the detailed content regarding the human body and health conditions throughout the degree, in particular the awesome capacity of the human nervous system!
Ultimately, Claudia’s passion lies with learning about, understanding and managing each person’s experience with pain, injury or otherwise physical challenge in an individualised way.
Her aim as a physio is to dispel fear or worry and instil awareness, knowledge and safety in order to empower clients to regain control of their recovery. She believes in taking a practical and pragmatic approach, using up to date, evidence based strategies and information to facilitate best outcomes. Claudia wants her clients to leave feeling heard, validated and confident in their rehabilitation plan.
Claudia’s areas of interest are:
- Sporting injuries and return to sport rehabilitation (especially football codes and running) –
- Chronic/persistent pain management
- Exercise prescription
- Dry Needling
- Headaches
- Persistent Pain
- Active Rehab
- Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
- Vertigo
When she’s not at the clinic, she can either be found stopping (or trying to stop..) strikers from scoring, in the backline of the Modbury Vista Women’s State League side, or scouting delicious meals.
Fun Fact:
When she was 18 she took a gap year and lived and worked in North America, firstly at a winery in California then at a ski resort in western Canada.
