Antonis completed his Science degree at Monash University in 1998, graduating with a first-class honours degree from the department of Anatomy. His area of honours research involved investigating genetic and anatomical aspects of neuronal cell death. He went on to complete an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in 2004. He completed a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy in 2010 and subsequently a double Masters in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in 2012. In 2020 he returned to study a Master of Laws at Monash University and is currently in his 3rd year of study.
Antonis has had extensive involvement with compensable patients and has been involved in the TAC & WorkSafe Victoria Occupational & Early Intervention Physiotherapy programs. He has had experience in medicolegal reporting since 2006 and understands the issues often associated with compensable musculoskeletal injuries. He has also had extensive experience working in occupational settings as an Onsite Physiotherapist and Workplace Health Consultant. Companies he has worked with include Cadbury- Schweppes, Bluescope Steel, Amcor Packaging, TipTop Bakeries, MaxiTrans Heavy Duty Semi Trailers, Laminex Industries, Unilever and Volgren/Grendas Buses. He also has experience conducting workplace assessments as well as extensive experience conducting pre-employment physical assessments.
Antonis is also an accomplished Sports Physiotherapist, having worked at multiple sporting events and with multiple sporting teams in the past. Teams he has worked with include Melbourne Heart Football Club, the Victorian Weightlifting Association, Bentleigh Greens Soccer Club and Clayton Football Club. He has also been a Physiotherapist at the Arafura Games, Oceania Para-Olympic Championships, Weightlifting Federation National Championships and Olympic Trials, Australian Corporate Games, Oxfam Trailwalker, Run for the Willows Athletics Carnival and BP Ultimate/BRW Corporate Triathlon.
