When Joanna (Jo) graduated from university as a nurse, she knew that she wanted to be a paediatric OT. She loves being an OT because she thoroughly enjoys working with children and their families to help them reach their goals. Jo enjoys getting to know the children she works with, finding out their strengths and using these in therapy to support the child in reaching their goals. Jo believes it is so special to see the pride on a child’s face when they achieve a goal that they have been working really hard towards.
Prior to working at OCC Therapy, Jo worked as a Registered Nurse in a Neonatal Critical Care Unit, which she really enjoyed. Since studying again, she has loved transitioning to be an Occupational Therapist and hasn’t looked back.
