Matt has a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology.
With a general case background including high performance, Matt has developed a keen interest in the area of lower limb rehab, particularly around the knee, foot and ankle.
Matt has a keen interest in identifying the key components for an efficient and effective rehabilitation which has served him and his patients well over his career as an Exercise Physiologist which is now beyond 10 years. The lower limb is a very complex area and one that requires diverse considerations for effective management and for this reason Matt developed a passion for this area. Having also ruptured his Achilles and experiencing the surgery and rehabilitation pathway back to quite a high level of basketball, Matt also has an appreciation for the patient side of the journey.
This combination of skills has resulted in Matt working with our partner company Foot and Ankle Rehab Australia to develop their exercise rehabilitation protocols which has led to him working very closely with some of Australia’s best foot and ankle physiotherapists and surgeons.
Matt also has a passion for advocacy for his profession and sharing his passion which has seen him achieve roles on the Exercise and Sports Science Australia Exercise Physiology Advisory Group, as well as Deakin University’s Course Advisory Committees for both the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and the Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Chair).
