Robert is a dedicated sports physiotherapist with over 17 years’ experience and is passionate about offering his exceptional services to the Gold Coast and making a positive impact on the community’s health and well-being. Robert was most recently sports physiotherapist at the Gold Coast Suns AFL club, where we worked there for 5 years.
Having graduated in 2006 Robert’s journey in sports physiotherapy began in 2009 with the Brisbane Roar Football Club. Working alongside renowned coach Ange Postecoglou, Robert contributed to the club’s victories in both A-League Premierships and Championships.
Eager to expand his horizons, Robert ventured to Europe and became the head physiotherapist for the ORICA GreenEdge Pro-cycling team. From 2012 to 2015 he collaborated with Australian High-Performance cycling to achieve remarkable results, spanning from world championships to grand tour wins.
Robert’s next endeavour took him to London, where he joined a prominent high-level private practice. There, he treated a diverse range of clients from active individuals through to elite athletes, including British Olympic athletes and premier league footballers. This experience allowed him to hone his skills and gain invaluable insights into sports physiotherapy. Prior to returning to Australia, Robert served as a team physiotherapist for both the Canadian Alpine ski team and the Australian Winter Olympic team. He provided crucial assistance during European training camps and World Cup race series.
Robert’s academic achievements include a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2010, following his graduate entry Masters in Physiotherapy in 2006. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Science) with Honours, earned in 2003 from the University of Queensland, Australia.
