Sathya is an experienced physiotherapist with special interests in foot and ankle, and strength and conditioning, along with post-operative rehabilitation. He started his career in 2003 as a team physiotherapist for first division and state cricket teams in India. After 2 years working alongside FAARA director Stuart Imer, Sathya now manages the Geelong Foot & Ankle caseload.
He is a qualified Sports Physiotherapist, with a master’s degree from the University of Melbourne. Sathya has worked with Melbourne Storm (NRL) and Melbourne Kestrels (Australian Netball League) and various other sporting clubs and sports medicine clinics.
Sathya is the current team physiotherapist for Geelong Cricket Club and the AFL Barwon (Geelong) Representing Interleague games. He was the team physiotherapist for Geelong Supercats Basketball team representing SEABL.
Sathya shares his experience by mentoring university students and graduate physiotherapists and he is the principal supervisor at Corio Bay Health Group, Geelong. He strongly believes in evidence-based physiotherapy intervention, strength & conditioning principles in rehabilitating his clients/patients.
Outside of work Sathya enjoys being a handyman around the house and photography. During his free time, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his lovely daughter.
